I also have it on a 45 record. Its a wonder it didn't disintegrate the number of times I played it when it first came out!!
What a great era for music, especially the "British Invasion" with bands such as the Beatles, Stones, Kinks, The Small Faces, Herman's Hermits, The Zombies, The Hollies, Manfred Mann and The Animals.
There is one notable omission from my list - The Who, a band I consider to be severely overrated.
Who did the US have? The Monkees, The Beach Boys, Chicago, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Mamas and Papas, The Doors and The Stooges.
The bolded are the only bands worthy of mention.
I did like some of the US bands as well that you don’t like. The Beach Boys and Chicago did some good songs. What a great era for music, especially the "British Invasion" with bands such as the Beatles, Stones, Kinks, The Small Faces, Herman's Hermits, The Zombies, The Hollies, Manfred Mann and The Animals.

Now you're talking! And what about Aussie bands/ musicians. We had some rippers. Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs, Deltones, Olivia, J’OK, Brian Cadd, LRB to name just a few. I know good music is just what suits the individual.
Out there a little was The Loved Ones. Leed singer was Gerry Humphries . Think he died only a few years back in the UK.
A song by Jennifer Rush. But it came out in 1984!Does anyone else like The Power of Love? This is a great song.
Frankie Goes to Hollywood did a song by the same title also in 1984.A song by Jennifer Rush. But it came out in 1984!
Female singers stand out to me like Linda Ronstadt, Blue Bayou and It's So Easy, two great songs.
Most groups come and go but the solo artists hang around till the end.
Just in case you missed them...
Admin: Tell me if I'm overstepping here.
I did like The Who until they appeared in Murwillumbah one time. They performed in the same place where we had been putting on a play and we had to clear the stage for the night they were appearing. We carefully put everything in the dressing rooms and made sure they had plenty of room there for their own gear. So, what did they do? The next night when we were to put on our play again, we found the dressing rooms and our gear completely trashed!!What a great era for music, especially the "British Invasion" with bands such as the Beatles, Stones, Kinks, The Small Faces, Herman's Hermits, The Zombies, The Hollies, Manfred Mann and The Animals.
