When we think about staying in a luxury hotel, the first thing that comes to mind is the posh treatment that we rightfully deserve. After all, we would be paying a hefty amount just to spend a night or two in these expensive places.
However, for some people, even the services in some of the world's finest hotels were still not enough to appease their taste, with some of them taking to Tripadvisor — a comparison website for hotels — to air their "frustrating" experiences while staying in these ritzy accommodations, and members, these complaints are something else…
So, buckle up, folks! Below are some of the funniest remarks given by vacationers about some of the most expensive hotels in the world!
1. The Langham in London (rooms from $1,069 a night)

One of the revered properties in London, The Langham has been in operation for over 150 years, serving some of the most influential Brits in history, including Princess Diana, Winston Churchill, and Oscar Wilde.
However, for Tripadvisor user @Estherbelfield, the services of the hotel seem to be subpar...
The guest, who only gave a two-star rating to the hotel, said that she was extremely irked by the fact that there weren't any "free biscuits or chocolates" waiting in her room upon her arrival.
2. The Dorchester (rooms from $1,774 a night)

The posh hotel received a three-star review from guest @Caledon_Hockley after noticing that the other guests in the hotel are not "dressed exquisitely", describing the experience as "underwhelming".
Well, I guess paying a substantial amount of money to stay in these expensive places is not enough, you must also follow a dress code, apparently.
Another guest, @OxfordHalal Foodie, fumed over the fact that the hotel serves "boring sandwiches".
3. The Ritz (rooms from $1,080 a night)

One guest panned The Ritz for its "tasteless" decoration.
Reviewer @LordOddie quipped: "The decor is vulgar and tasteless, the clientele is unsophisticated. It’s a Disney attraction."
4. The Savoy (rooms from $788 a night)

Speaking of poor choice of decoration, guest @clarej2610 slammed The Savoy for its "lousy" choice of pillows.
The reviewer wrote: "I prefer pillows with a little more exuberance."
A hotel representative apologised to the guest, saying that they have a "choice of pillows and bedding" they could choose from in their future stays in the hotel.
Another unsatisfied guest, @V3389FPshirleyp, described the hotel's "presentation of the papaya fruit" at breakfast as "abysmal".
Quite a shocker that serving fruits should also follow a specific presentation to please some people, isn't it?
5. Corinthia Hotel London (rooms from $1,613 a night)

A lemon slice on a glass of liquor is the equivalent of "the cherry on top" of our desserts — they're just placed there to add some flare to the drink.
Well, for one Corinthia Hotel London guest, having their drinks served with a slice of lemon is "uninspired".
The hotel has since apologised to the guest for "not meeting expectations".
