Smart phone's and TV

Hi everyone, hope all is well. I'm looking for somewhere that teaches smart phone and smart TV stuff, not on line, go to a class so it's face to face hands on training. For seniors beginners level. I'm in Bentley WA. Stay well Tony

Hi Tony! We found Tech Help sessions for basic technology being held at the Cockburn Libraries in Coolbellup. This happens every Wednesday between 1 to 130PM. Their exact address is 90 Cordelia Ave, Coolbellup WA 6163. You can also call ahead at 08 9411 3830. Hope this helps! :)

Hi Tony. The Autumn Centre (for people over 60 years old) in Rockingham has a free course running weekly. It's very casual but a great help. Unfortunately, as the Autumn Centre Rockingham is a Council run programme, I think you need to live within the Rockingham shire to be able to attend. There is a joining fee for the Autumn Centre, but they have a multitude of services that they offer, including cooked meals. You may be able to find something similar in your local Council? You may be able to check you local Council website for courses? Good luck. Regards, Julie

Hope find something.
We have a community service here in Newcastle that does exactly that.
It's quite likely there will be something like that there. I always go to Mr Google for help with things I need to learn or discover. If you don't have the ability to do a Google search, perhaps someone in the local library can help you.

You might even put the word out at your local high school for any senior student who might like to help out. My son was around 16 or 17 when an older couple paid him a small fee to visit their home and teach them computer/phone skills. That was over 20 years ago now, and my son is Associate Professor of Neuropsychology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He has fond memories of the kind couple. 😊

I'm in Merrimac on the Gold Coast and I desperately need help to use my new Samsung phone. It's very different to my old Samsung which was for 3G. Our area is now 5G, and 3G phones no longer work. I went to the Robina library but they were unable to help. Does anyone know of a likely source of help around here? Nichola, your suggestion of a high school student sounds worth following up if I can't find a class. Thank you.

Go back to the shop you bought it from, they should be able to help you set it up, and trans-fare all your contacts from the old device to the new one. Good Luck and stay safe!

The library emailed me that they now had a Samsung Galaxy S21 for dummies so I collected it today. My new Samsung is very different from my old one. The shop did transfer contacts etc. but how to manipulate them is my problem. I'll try working through the how to do it book. Thanks for your concern.
