Slip-up of the week: The Morning Show host leaves thousands in hysterics after risqué blooper

It’s easy to commit silly pronunciation errors whether it’s when speaking to a group or having a casual conversation with a friend. We’ve all been there.

Fortunately for us, simple mistakes don’t get broadcasted on national television for the rest of the country to see – but for TV personalities, these moments unfold a little differently.

The Morning Show host Matt Doran committed a racy slip of the tongue during a cooking segment on Thursday. Doran and his co-host Sally Bowrey were talking about National Lamington Day when he accidentally made the hilarious mistake.

He was supposed to say ‘choc-coconut goodness’ - but he blurted out something else completely.

'Welcome back, well, with soft sponge and choc c**k - no,' Doran said, before tilting his head slightly and visibly cringing at the error.

Sally Bowrey immediately picked up on it and was left in fits of laughter. She struggled to maintain her composure as Doran called for a quick rewind.

'Let’s just rewind to the top of that and start again,' he can be heard saying, while Bowrey teased: 'What does that taste like?'

Doran started over: 'Welcome back to The Morning Show, with soft sponge and choc-coconut goodness, lamingtons are an iconic national treasure that all Aussies love,' he said perfectly the second time around but his co-host was still struggling to recover.

'Behave, Sal!' Doran joked.

Bowrey posted a highlight of the funny incident on her Instagram account, writing: 'SWEAR JAR, MATT!'

Dozens of her followers flooded the comments with laughing and chicken emojis as well as their reactions to the slip-up.

'With enough time on air, our true self begins to shine through.' one user joked.

'We love choc c**ks!' chimed another.

'It was a real tongue twister.' commented a third, while a fourth shared: 'Sally was never going to let him get away with that.'

In an interview, Doran addressed the embarrassing moment, saying: 'Thank you for interest in yet another inglorious moment in Australian television history,'

'I was particularly inattentive at that point in time, given there was food to be consumed imminently.'

Doran said that was 'excuse number one', before presenting 'excuse number two.’

'You try saying ‘choc coconut’ three times through and see how you go!'

It is so easy to get tongue tied on tv. At least once per season my son will say frog and fost instead of fog and frost. He can smile about it now but was absolutely mortified the first time he said it live on tv.:)
