Sizzler’s Cheesy Bread

I know there are many of you who remember the Sizzler Restaurants of old, and no doubt remember Sizzler’s iconic
cheesy bread. One of my favourite online
chefs (One Pot Chef) has created a copycat recipe for Sizzler’s cheesy bread that I would like to share with you.

Sizzler’s Cheesy Bread
Servings: 4 slices of bread
Ingredients:
• 4 thick slices of white sandwich bread
• 1/2 cup of butter, room temperature
• 1/2 cup of finely shredded Parmesan
cheese
Directions:
1. Mix the butter and cheese together.
2. Heat a large frypan to medium
temperature.
3. Liberally spread the butter mixture
over one side of each slice, and place
the slices butter side down, in the
frypan.
4. Sauté each slice until golden brown.
5. Flip the slices over, and sauté until
lightly toasted.IMG_7547.jpeg

My wife and I often went to Sizzlers in
Toowoomba. I love my dessert, so I would
head straight for the dessert bar. I would
not only go back for seconds, I’d go back
for thirds and fourths! But that was after I
cleaned up the cheesy bread first.

When I was a kid we used to butter the bread, put a slice of cheese on each and cook under the driller. It is called Welsh Rarebit. (sometimes we would sprinkle a little white pepper on the butter then put the cheese slice on)

Still do that everyday for my brekkie under the griller 👍
