Shoppers are outraged! Did Allen’s discontinue these iconic lolly flavours?

You may remember them from the days of your childhood–the days when few worries clouded your mind, and you could indulge in a bag of delicious lollies.

We’re talking about Red Ripperz, Sherbies and Milkos, three of Allen’s beloved lollies which have been taken off store shelves and left fans in despair.

Since late 2022, shoppers have reported having difficulty locating the popular range on supermarket shelves–with many expressing their confusion and distress on social media.

‘Have Red Ripperz been discontinued? I’ve been looking for some Red Ripperz, and everywhere is out of stock. It’s not even showing up on the Allen’s website. Have I missed some news, or what’s the go?’ one fan said

‘This the worst day of my life. For real, please bring them back here,’ another shopper confessed.

A third person asked: ‘Please, when are Red Ripperz going to be back in stock? I really want some I’m so desperate.’

‘NEWSFLASH! Everything that was good when we were kids has been discontinued,’ a fourth person added.

However, it appears the iconic lollies aren’t gone for good. The parent company for Allen’s, Nestlé, have confirmed they have 'temporarily paused production' of the three sweets as it shifts production to Broadford.

‘We are working hard to bring these back to shelves in their own bags as soon as possible,’ Nestlé Head of Marketing Confectionary Melanie Chen said.

She revealed that shoppers can still get their hands on the treats, albeit in a different form–you can find them in bags of Allen’s Chew Mix.

Chen stated: 'The good news is you can still find Red Ripperz, Sherbies, and Milko chews in bags of Allen’s Chew Mix. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on our Facebook page when individual bags make a return. In the meantime, let’s show Allen’s Chew Mix some love.'

The surprising news of the lollies’ disappearance follows Nestlé’s announcement in June confirming that Allen’s Fantales had been discontinued after 93 years due to 'declining sales and the need for significant upgrades'.

Nestlé Oceania Confectionery General Manager Andrew Lawrey said: 'We know our decision to stop making Fantales will be sad news for many people. Many of us grew up with Fantales and have fond memories of them. Despite the sense of nostalgia Fantales evoke, unfortunately, people simply aren’t buying them as often as they used to.'

To be honest the only reason why I don't buy as many lollies any more is my household has gone from four to one and the size of the bags are just to big. I can't understand why in this day and age they haven't started making snack pack size (50 or 100g size). Then I might buy more again, but they would also have to bring back many of the flavours from my past (pre 90's). But don't sell them in a pack of six, sell them per bag. Packaging for the shops could be how they sell small chocolate bars. Would also solve my problem with the mixed party packs. I don't buy these either as there are flavour in it that I just don't eat, so I just throw them away.

Loved the Fantales but I noticed the last bag I bought the fantales were nearly half the size they were before and more expensive so they are off the list.

BRING THEM BACK!!!! IN INDIVIDUAL PACKS TOO! As the 'Chew Mix' is a Rip off - 65% Rippers and an uneven split of Sherbies and Milkos to make up the rest AND NONE OF THEM TASTE LIKE THEY USED TO YEARS AGO.
Rippers are way too hard (and FAR too many in a chew mix packet)
Sherbies and Milkos stick to the wrappers just like the rippers.
If you don't want the rippers and are craving the other two then over half a packet gets tossed out.
Besides I still want the rippers reverted to their original name Redskins - screw this PC crap
