In a beautiful display of empathy, the staff member included a handwritten note along with a block of Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate, apologising for the inconvenience caused by the out-of-stock items.

The note read, 'We would like to apologise for the large quantity of out-of-stock products today.'

The customer was so touched by the staff member’s thoughtful gesture that they posted a picture of the note on Facebook, tagging Woolworths and expressing their gratitude: 'This made my day! What a kind gesture! Thank you kindly, Woolworths online team. You've brightened my day.'

The spokesperson further explained, 'These additional gestures are discretionary and arise when our team identifies an opportunity to go the extra mile for a customer. They vary across our stores nationwide, reflecting the individuality of our teams.'

Woolies is good here as well. I have had a few problems with a couple of orders which they stuffed up and both times I was given a box of Favourites with a note apologies. Lovely 👍
