Shopper discovers secret 'little bag' in their Woolworths order: ‘Extremely grateful’

Woolworths has long been a staple in the grocery landscape, offering a wide range of products and services to make shopping more convenient for its customers.

But it's not just the products on the shelves that keep customers coming back; it's also the personal touches and unexpected gestures that can turn an ordinary shopping experience into something memorable.

This was precisely the case for a Brisbane shopper who found a delightful surprise tucked away in her Click & Collect order.

The shopper, named Kirstie, was unloading her groceries when she ‘came across a little bag' with a handwritten card attached.

The message on the card was a heartfelt thank you from the Oxley store's online team, saying, ‘Kirstie, thank you for always choosing Oxley for your shopping, whether it be a delivery or in-store. We appreciate your continuous support!’

But the surprise didn't end there. As Kirstie delved into the blue gift bag, she discovered it was filled with an assortment of treats.

The thoughtful gesture was shared in her video online, where Kirstie expressed her extreme gratitude to the Woolies employees for their kindness.

‘Not only have they sent a really nice note, but they’ve added a whole heap of goodies,’ she said.

The contents were reminiscent of something out of Mary Poppins' magical purse, with a variety of items including a glow-in-the-dark skeleton hand perfect for Halloween, a can of Coke, Pringles, a Kit-Kat, and other lollies.

‘Thank you so much,’ Kirstie told the Woolies employees, adding she was ‘extremely grateful’.

This act of generosity seems part of a larger trend, as numerous other shoppers have reported receiving surprise gifts with their essentials in recent weeks.

Woolworths appears to be going the extra mile to delight its customers.

‘I got given a bunch of roses from Woolies once,’ one shopper said.

While one customer received a note and a Freddo frog, they humorously noted that their gift came with a few unwanted substitutions, the overall sentiment is one of appreciation for these unexpected tokens of thanks.

Some speculate that the gifted items might come from damaged packaging and thus unsellable, but regardless of the reason, Woolworths is clearly finding ways to ensure nothing goes to waste while simultaneously bringing a smile to its customers' faces.

:) About 2 weeks ago I was given a block of Lindt chocolate by a staff member when I was on my way out of Woolworths. My husband really enjoyed it! Mother's Day I was given a bunch of flowers by a fellow shopper in the carpark.
Last Mother's Day I was given a bunch of flowers by a fellow shopper in the carpark. A much appreciated lovely surprise.

When you live in a town with only one grocery store that delivers (Woolworths) you don't get little 'thankyou' treats as there is nowhere else to shop. Be thankful for the surprise - some of us will never get one.

If they decide to give a small gift to their customers, then maybe they should research what items that the customer regularly buys....then they know it will most likely be used....a small saving on their next shopping list.
