I could swear this is the basket that I have in the cupboard that was my mums. I still use needles and cotton from it when I need to put a button on shirt. Wow, I am not just the only one. A little keep sake from a past generation. It is a bit like a museum piece.

The one frequently in use in my house is plastic 'woven' and over 55yrs old.

I have two original 1960's fabric (quilted) sewing baskets. Don't use them often as most I my clothes now do not have buttons. Just something in the cupboard "just in case".

Yep I remember that my mum had a sewing basket full of needles and cotton and thimbles. Lots of darning back in those days.
