I had to fork out for a new TV,my old one still A1 . But was losing channels to HD which my TV didn't have. Had to buy previous TV because my older one didn't accept digital. Bit like everything costs to update which isn't good

Yes it strikes me that some services can see that they can make extra profits by updating their technology even though the principle item works perfectly. Now I notice that Microsoft are charging for programmes that came ‘free’ once. Even sporting teams change their original colours. Really profits exceed quality original products at times.
