It takes a certain type of person to front a television camera. Unfortunately, like every other dating show, it will be manipulated by the producers. Though if genuine results happen, good wishes.

At least the oldies might have a lot more sense then the young ones trying to be famous first on the younger version then remembering they're trying to find a date.

At least I can relate to the older people so the programme would seem better. To me anyway

I would serenade you under your bedroom window, me naked as a Jay Bird, sing Dean Martin's that's Amore with a police helicopter flying overhead with its spotlight focused on me, for special effect! This year, a brand-new reality dating show specifically for seniors called ‘The Golden Bachelor’ is launching overseas.

Gone are the days of watching younger contestants try to fight each other in the hopes of finding true love on TV. The Golden Bachelor is a fresh spin-off from the world of The Bachelor, showcasing a ‘whole new kind of love story’ and focusing on helping seniors find love and companionship in their golden years.

The American ABC Network revealed a quick synopsis of what viewers can expect from this spin-off series during a press release.

‘On this all-new unscripted series, one hopeless romantic is given a second chance at love in the search for a partner with whom to share the sunset years of life,’ the network explained.

‘The women arriving at the mansion have a lifetime of experience, living through love, loss and laughter, hoping for a spark that ignites a future full of endless possibilities. In the end, will our Golden man turn the page to start a new chapter with the woman of his dreams?’

While the identity of the ‘Golden Man’ remains a secret, executive Rob Mills shared an endearing story from the casting process back in 2020.

He told reporters: ‘Some of the casting interviews we got, they were just so touching. It’s such a different way of doing it because these people are just at a totally different place in their lives.’

Before COVID-19 shut down the entertainment industry in 2020, ABC teased the show with a casting call, airing a promo stating, ‘Now casting seniors looking for love’.

I would serenade you under your bedroom window, me naked as a Jay Bird, sing Dean Martin's that's Amore with a police helicopter flying overhead with its spotlight focused on me, for special effect! As I finish the song, I turn away from you in the window there is a long-stemmed red rose, stuck in between the cheeks of my Gluteus Maximus's! (thorns removed of course, Ouch!)

Would you care for drinks at the South of Perth Yacht Club or Casino or coffee at a cafe of Ma Ladies choosing? I would love to watch this show, as a newly divorced person in my mid 60's I wouldn't even mind being on it if it helped me find love, I think this is a wonderful concept, I know it is hard to go out to places and online dating is a bit scary for me me, so this is perfect x

I'm trusting that the producers
exercise common sense and most definitely do not humiliate or cause embarrassment to any one involved.. Off course there are different personalities and possibly group dynamics and then the dynamics of their offspring ... But in general Children wish only the best for their parents and are not adverse to seeing them in relationships, especially when they see their parent are happy and then once they get to know the new partner. As i see it if the contestants are open and sincere and the producers very careful in their interactions with contestants then it would be indeed a great show. Mmm maybe just a few dramas as thats where i would get s few ideas to improve myself.. I would be open to meeting a man for companionship, but would prefer a man who is spiritualy aware and interesting and i guess the only way that could happen was if one was to get out of their comfort zone and be prepared to be vulnerable and trusting... he and i .
For some folks being solo with no romantic attachments suits them. I have noticed that it's the men who very quickly find a partner after the death of their wives.. whereas the woman whose partner has died dont seen in such as hurry. I wish only good for those who have met and are exploring am the their relationships
