Have you ever noticed the different markings on the price tags of some items in ALDI?
Eagle-eyed customers pointed out that the German retailer's yellow price tags have inconsistent markings on them — some having black writing and the other in red — leaving them wondering if there's any meaning behind these markings.
Apparently, there is meaning behind the different markings! The markings actually indicate the availability of the items.
TikTok user Queenie Tan, who is famously known for her username @investwithqueenie, has spilled the secret behind the markings on the price tags used by ALDI.

The 25-year-old revealed that there is actually a way of telling which products from the German retailer will be available for a limited time only and which ones are permanent offerings.
She explains: “A yellow tag with black writing means it’s a core Aldi product.”
“But a yellow tag with red writing means it’s a limited time product.”

An ALDI spokesperson confirmed that the company uses different markings to differentiate the items in all of its stores nationwide.
It was said that customers can see the label "limited time only" on price tags with red writing on them — which they admitted was difficult to spot, especially when the customer is in a rush.
It is confirmed that staff members often mark the price tags of limited-edition products so customers can easily find them on the shelves.
Meanwhile, another ALDI fan pointed out that some price tags have handwritten "D" on them which indicates that the product has been discontinued.
Queenie responded to this claim, writing: "Ooo I haven’t seen this before but now I’ll keep a lookout thanks.”
It should be noted, however, that some stores use red stickers to indicate if an item will not be making a comeback on their shelves, instead of handwriting the letter "D" on their price tags.
So, there you have it, folks! We hope this ALDI secret will help you with your shopping!
