Q5, I thought the Simpson Desert was the largest National Park. Any thoughts?
Perhaps it doesn’t have enough trees to be called a Park?

Have never travelled overseas, but if I had been going anywhere it would have been Egypt first on the list that's for sure....anyway I seek out as much as I can on the internet about the place. Unbelievable destination.

I looked it up. The Simpson Desert is larger than Kakadu. The Simpson Desert National Park (Munga-Thirri Nat. Park) at only 10,120sq.kms is smaller than Kakadu National Park at 19,816sq.kms.
The latter was named a National Park in the 70s. I must have remembered something about it because I was confident in my answer.

I'd better read about it out. Simpson Desert is said to be 176,500sqkms, so maybe the whole desert is now a national park. Thanks. Not all sites are accurate!!
