School book labels

Oh the fights these used to cause between us kids. We all seemed to want the same one. All the magazines, Women’s Weekly, New Idea, Woman’s Day had 1/2 pages of these labels in their magazines in time for the start of each school year. We always carefully covered our books in brown paper, stuck one of these labels on them, then covered them in plastic. It was an easy job to cover the thinner exercise books that had staples holding them together, but when we got to high school the books were much thicker and were bound together. These were harder to cover but with mums help we managed. By the time my kids went to school books were being covered in contact which stuck to them. School labels were still the go. Now most high school kids just have folders they add pages to as required. Infants and primary school kids generally cover their books at school. I don’t think there is much use of these labels anymore.
