As prices rise and our wallets get thinner, it's important to budget wisely and make the most of our spending. And that's why deals like the one McDonald's have lined up this week are so exciting!
On April 26, McDonald’s Australia will hold a special, one day only celebration for its beloved ‘McChicken’ burger – and it’s an unbeatable deal you won’t want to miss.
For one day only, McDonald’s is practically giving away one of its most beloved burgers, the McChicken burger, selling them for a mere $1 each.
According to McDonald’s, it wants to put a spotlight on the ‘middle child’ of the fast food giant’s menu, which is often overshadowed by its siblings, the Cheeseburger and Big Mac.
Customers can pick up a burger for $1 if they order via the MyMacca’s app.
You can download the app from the Apple App Store (for iPhone users) and Google Play Store (for Android users).
The McChicken sandwich features a 100 per cent Aussie RSPCA Approved quality chicken breast, cooked in a crispy seasoned tempura coating and topped with 100 per cent Aussie crisp lettuce and creamy McChicken Sauce, all nestled between a sesame seed bun.
According to Macca’s itself, this menu item is a ‘hard to beat’ classic.
The promo was announced early this week through a media release.
Tim Kenward, the Marketing Director for McDonald’s Australia, said: ‘Because every middle child deserves a little celebration, we’re showing mid-kids just how special they are with an exclusive one day only deal on Wednesday via the MyMacca’s app, featuring our very own middle child, the McChicken.’
‘Mid-kids now is your time to shine. Shout yourself a $1 McChicken, because that’s what we call a middle child celebration,’ he added.
This isn’t the first time this deal was revealed to the public. In July last year, McDonald’s Australia also offered the promotion nationwide to participating stores.
‘We felt it was time to put the McChicken front and centre, giving this middle child its moment. So, for all the middle children out there, including my sister, this one’s for you,’ Mr Kenward said in a statement.
The fast food giant also shared the deal on its social media pages earlier this month.
‘A McChicken, our menu middle child, won’t make up for years of being a mid-kid. But it will make it feel better,’ it captioned in one post.
‘If you relate hard to our menu middle child, it’s time to shout yourself to a McChicken,’ it wrote in another.
Many social media commenters (many of whom are middle children themselves) expressed their delight at ‘being seen’ and felt validated by the restaurant chain.
‘Being a middle child, I feel for my McChicken brother,’ one commented.
McDonald’s Australia saw this and replied: ‘Middle kids have got to stick together.’
‘I’m the middle child. I can relate,’ said another.
Someone admitted: ‘I've never related to a burger more than I have right now.’
While one social media user asked why McChicken was considered the ‘middle child’ of the restaurant’s menu items. McDonald’s Australia responded with: ‘It just is.’
Other Macca’s fans said that their first choice was always the McChicken.
‘I go for either the McChicken burger or wrap since I don’t really like the beef. I tend to get the wrap since it’s got cheese, bacon, and all that,’ one wrote.
‘Luv a McChick; The originals are the best,’ another replied.
A third agreed and commented: ‘Absolutely love a McChicken.’
To score this deal, all you have to do is log in to your MyMaccas’s app to order the McChicken, at any time between 10:30 am and 11:59 pm on April 26. You can check the participating restaurants via the MyMacca’s app as well.
The MyMacca’s app can be used at drive-thru’s, kiosks or front counters, but the $1 McChicken offer is limited to one per person in a single transaction and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
This offer cannot be distributed or redeemed by a child under 15 years.
This limited-time offer is an excellent opportunity for McDonald’s fans to enjoy a special menu item at a discounted price while also taking advantage of the loyalty program benefits offered through the MyMacca’s app - once customers accumulate 2,500 points or more, they can redeem their rewards for various menu favourites, such as McCafe coffees, Cheeseburgers, Fries, and Big Macs.
This story comes after McDonald’s Australia first introduced its new service in participating stores in NSW: the McDelivery. According to reports at the time, the new service is part of the fast food chain’s ‘ongoing commitment’ to providing greater value, convenience, and rewards to its customers. Have you ever had the McChicken burger? Are you excited about this deal, or are you more of a big mac guy or girl?
