Save more on groceries now: Coles revives Big Red Hand in unmissable new savings scheme

You have seen the Big Red Hand before, a signal that prices at Coles will go ‘down, down’.

But this time, the supermarket is raising its game. Today, they've revealed their plans for a massive three-month discounted shopping program to help families stretch their household budgets further.

They've dubbed it the 'Great Value, Hands Down' campaign, and the savings are not to be missed.

There will be discounts on more than 500 products, with an average basket saving of 19.7 per cent!

The range includes bulk packs of minced meat, chicken tenders, cans of tuna, breakfast cereals and pantry staples.

Your grocery bill will definitely decrease, with some items having up to a 50 per cent price drop!

Coles CEO Leah Weckert said the campaign was about giving customers more for less: 'We know cost-of-living continues to be the number one concern for Australians right now, so we’re making our biggest investment in value for at least three years.’

‘We’ve spent a lot of time over the past few months listening to our customers, our team members and our suppliers because we recognise the important role we have in helping their budgets go further,' she explained.

'The bill can really add up with three young boys–they are always hungry,' Mrs Smith shared.

'With Coles introducing the price drop campaign, it’s going to be easier than ever for us to buy quality household essentials for a great price,' she added.

Plus, there are even more ways to save. Coles customers will also be encouraged to redeem Flybuys points for money off their shop, access free Click & Collect when they spend over $50 and activate Flybuys offers on the Coles app. With this, there's no excuse to miss out on the savings–it's time to stock up and save!

About time. Groceries are Far too expensive for most families. I love the Competition between Woolworths and Coles, and I always look for the Half Price specials First,

Like Woolworths, Coles are cutting prices of things that are not really stable items we buy, although there wasn't a list of 500 products on here, would have to check out the store I go to for that I am sure.

About time customers get some savings. Reality is - if they can reduce items to the new costs ( will still be making a profit) , how much have they been ripping off the struggling people? No shame anywhere.

Don't believe it! I saw a Coles employee yesterday changing signage on meat shelves to yellow now down to tickets and the meat was the same prices as always was ! Just another con by supermarkets to get us to buy ! Do they really think we are that stupid that we don't know they are trying to dupe us?

How can they slash Finish Ultimate Plus by 50%? Obviously overpriced the rest of the time.
Woolworths are pushing customers to spend more by selling 3 items at less cost. Why not reduce price by each item as young people can't afford to spend on more than they need, and older customers can't use 3 before UBD is expired.

Woolworths raised price of Lor Coffee capsules by $3 per pack of 20 in a week .
Can they please explain?

I agree with you a BIG, FAT 1000% what Coles, as well Woollies, are doing with the prices! They think that we are stupid. Also, they are shifting products all over the place to 'bamboozle' customers, so when they go and look for them, on the way they will 'grab' some more items from the shelves! If I can not find what I want, I simply ask a lady working at the shop to get it for me, or to lead me there. I am done with both supermarkets! Can't wait for 'Aldi' to be finished to build in Andergrove-Mackay.

As for price rises...this time last year at Coles,l could buy a 30 pack carton of Pepsi Max for $19.This year the price for 1 carton is $31....or when on special you can get 2 packs for $52..Not sure if this is a price increase passed on buy the supplier, but either way that increase is steep !

I consider $36.59 price gouging...... the day I pay that sort of money will be the day of the second coming. That is a full grocery price.
