Before Catherine and William married she had the name change so they would have been fully aware especially Harry. I remember reading that it was the late Queen Elizabeth requested it as being a future queen Catherine was to be know by her formal name. No excuses for using Kate unless it was to annoy.

Since the request for her name was before her marriage Harry would have known and Catherine would have been introduced to Megan as that so there is no doubt it is a deliberate disrespect by Megan. But having said that William and Catherine have far more serious concerns to be focused on and just need to walk the high road.

If Catherine asked for her full name BEFORE she was married then Harry would know. But I and probably lots of other people didn't know this and have seen the media call her Kate lots of times since her marriage. I think that William needs to get his act together. I don't think that a brother-in-law referring to his sister-in-law by previously pet name is anything to carry on about. They are still family even if William has turned his back on them. Give Harry a break he was just being human and showing compassion. William could do with a big dose of that. I think that they should all build a bridge and get over themselves. Prince William comes across as a bully and does not know how to make amends to his brother and vice a versa. This dispute has gone on long enough and all parties need to grow up. Harry needs to stop feeling sorry for himself and Meghan needs to support her husband and stop stirring up trouble. After all it was laid out to her what being a Royal entailed. Her father was right in the sense that he said she would cause disharmony in the family and she has done that.

She made a simple request that people use her given name Catherine, now as far as I'm aware Kate is not a diminutive of Catherine now if her name was spelled with a "K" then it would be different.
