Rock legends return for Australian tour—see them live this year

Get ready to dust off your devil horns and crank up the volume—Australia’s rock royalty is storming back home for a stadium tour that’s set to shake the nation to its core!

After a decade-long wait, the world’s greatest hard rock band is returning to Aussie soil for a string of electrifying shows this November and December, and if you’re a fan (or know someone who is), this is one event you won’t want to miss.

It’s been ten long years since AC/DC last tore up our biggest stages, and anticipation is at fever pitch.

The Power Up tour will kick off at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on 12 November, before rolling into Sydney’s Accor Stadium on 21 November, the bp Adelaide Grand Final on 30 November, Perth’s Optus Stadium on 4 December, and finally, Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on 14 December.

If you’re thinking about grabbing tickets, you’re not alone—demand is expected to be absolutely bonkers.

When the band launched the European leg of their tour, they sold a jaw-dropping 1.7 million tickets in a single day!

With fans spanning five generations and a global army of diehards who follow the band from continent to continent, competition for seats will be fierce.

In true AC/DC fashion, the band is keeping things fair and square for their Aussie fans.

There’ll be no pre-sales or exclusive early access—everyone gets an equal shot at tickets, which start at a refreshingly reasonable $132.45 (including booking fee).

As their Australian promoter Christo Van Egmond puts it: ‘They want everyone to have an equal opportunity to get tickets. AC/DC are extremely fan-focused, always have been, so no pre-sales, accessible ticket prices and an unbelievable show.’

And if you’re worried about missing out, keep your eyes peeled—there are gaps in the tour schedule, so extra shows could be added if demand goes through the roof (which it probably will).

If you’re wondering whether the band’s still got it, rest assured: AC/DC are in blistering form.

Christo Van Egmond, who’s seen more than 60 AC/DC gigs since he was a kid, says, ‘They sound unbelievable; Brian [Johnson] sounds incredible, Angus [Young] is absolutely shredding it up and they’re on fire at the moment.’

Their 2020 album, Power Up, debuted at No.1, making them the first band to have an Australian chart-topping record in five consecutive decades.

Not bad for a bunch of blokes who’ve been rocking since the 1970s!

Adding to the excitement, homegrown punk rockers Amyl and the Sniffers will be warming up the crowd as the support act.

If you’re wondering what to expect from the setlist, their recent show in Cleveland, Ohio, offers a strong hint.

Fans were treated to classics like If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It), Back in Black, Thunderstruck, Hells Bells, and Highway to Hell.

The energy kept building with hits such as You Shook Me All Night Long, Whole Lotta Rosie, and Let There Be Rock—complete with Angus’s iconic guitar solo.

The encore didn’t disappoint either, closing the night with T.N.T. and For Those About to Rock (We Salute You).

Tickets go on sale June 26 at staggered local times: Sydney from 9 am, Adelaide from 10 am, Brisbane from 11 am, and Melbourne and Perth from 1 pm.

All tickets (except for the BP Adelaide Grand Final concert, which is via Ticketmaster) are available through Ticketek.

With Metallica and Oasis also bringing their world tours to Australia in late 2025, it’s shaping up to be a blockbuster summer for live music.

But for many of us, nothing beats the thrill of seeing AC/DC light up a stadium with their timeless anthems and raw energy.
