Here’s your third and final riddle of the week!

Five apples are in a basket. How do you divide them among five girls so that each girl gets an apple, but one apple remains in the basket?

Cut 4 apples into quarters, making 20 pieces, then each girl gets 4 pieces each
 
This is not a riddle because the answer is too obvious.

After four apples are given to 4 girls, the fifth girl is given
the basket with the apple in it.

Give an apple to each of four girls and then give the basket with the last apple in it to the last girl.

4 girls get an apple and the one in the basket is for the fifth girl who hasn’t got hers yet

Give each girl an apple, the last girl gets her apple in the basket. Hence five girls get an apple and a basket.
