Five apples are in a basket. How do you divide them among five girls so that each girl gets an apple, but one apple remains in the basket?

Give one girl the basket with the apple, one apple each for the other 4

It's simple, We can give 4 apples to four girls. The remaining one apple we will give to girl in the basket. And hence, One apple will remain in the basket.
