Was 17 on 30/12, turned 18 on 31/12 in, say 2006, so today on 1/1/07, I will be 18 all year, turning 19 at the end of 2007 on 31/12. I will therefore turn 20 next year (2008).

I was 17 the day before yesterday, 18 yesterday. I will be 19 this year, and 20 next year!

That's possible if "Today" is Jan. 1st., and the person has their birthday on Dec. 31. In that case, on Dec. 30 their were 17 years old, on Dec. 31 they turned 18, this year they turns 19, and next year they turns 20.

He was 17 the day before yesterday then he was 18 yesterday so he will be 19 this year and 20 next year. Sounds right to me but I may be way off base.
