The day before yesterday I was 17 years old. But next year I will be 20 years old. How is this possible?

Their birthday is the 1st of January
 
On 31st December. He was 17 the day before. Yesterday. He was 18 yesterday. He will be 19 this year, and 20 next year!

The day before yesterday was the 30th December I was 17. Yesterday on 31st December I turned 18. Today is New Year. I will turn 19 this year. Next year 20!

today is 1 Jan. turned 18 yesterday 31 Dec and was 17 the day before on 30 Dec, this makes this year 31 Dec turns 19 and then Dec 31 the following year turns 20

Easy. His birthday is on 31 Dec, which was yesterday when he turned 18, therefore 17 on the day before yesterday. Today is 01 Jan so he will be turning 19 this year on 31 Dec, and 20 next year.

Born leap year, 29 February (17 years) then next birthday 3 years later, another leap year (20 years)
 
Yesterday was December 31st, the 18th Birthday. The day before yesterday, December 30th, the person was only 17. That person will be 19 this year, on December 31st and will be 20 on December 31st, next year.
