I'm a bit late, but obviously fish can't drown, however they can die from lack of oxygen.
Regardless, you didn't say the supposed dead fish (if they are in fact dead!) went anywhere, so you still technically have all the fish you started with = ten. The issue of their being dead is open to discussion.
