Are you looking to breathe life into your home but feel a little stuck on how to do it?
Don’t worry; you don’t need to turn to expensive designers to get those fabulous, modern looks because BIG W has the perfect solution for you.
When it comes to picking out furniture and home decor pieces, it can be a daunting process. We all want to find the perfect items that we love, and that will last, but affordability is usually an issue.
But after one major retailer dropped its new range of homewares, updating your home just got a whole lot easier and more affordable.
BIG W has announced an in-house overhaul of its homewares range, featuring items for every corner of your home. From the kitchen to the living room and all the way to the bedroom – this range is one of its biggest changes yet.
According to the retailer, they intended to keep staple designs and mix in seasonal and on-trend designs.
The team behind the design said that durability, sustainability, and affordability were at the ‘forefront’ of their minds when creating the range due to the rising cost of living.
One material that is heavily featured in the range is bouclé, a much sought-after style in recent years due to its soft and comfortable look. Bouclé is woven loop fabric, which makes it look bumpy from afar, but it’s actually cosy and adds a laid back vibe to any room.
It was initially reserved for designer items because of the fabric’s unique characteristics, but because of demand, the fabric has become more affordable.
An item that’s turning heads is the Openook Bouclé throw. It retails for $22, while the cushions have a price tag of $10.
There’s also a soft fabric chair on offer called Home Trading Company Fabric Occasional Chair. It has a gold finish metal frame and soft fabric seating, similar to bouclé fabric. It retails for $130.
The chair has a matching ottoman called Home Trading Company Coil Fabric Storage Ottoman. According to the product description, the chair offers functionality and a ‘luxurious, comfortable style’ for your home.
It features a textured coil fabric and inner storage that’s good for keeping extra blankets or cushions. It also makes for a cosy footrest or extra seating for when you have guests. The Ottoman retails for $90.
Gary Chen, the Senior Designer in charge of the range at BIG W, said: ‘Our Openook range draws inspiration from the latest home trends, colours and materials. Looking ahead to winter, textures are key with a focus on bouclé, faux fur and velvet.’
Mr Chen continued: ‘Customers can look forward to more exciting products coming across the season, helping them to add a touch of style to their homes in an affordable way.’
On the other hand, Vanessa Rowed, Marketing Director at BIG W, stated that the introduction of the line was a big step forward for the brand.
‘We know families are looking for more affordable ways to breathe new life into their homes, whether by adding a key statement piece, small decor touches or a complete room refresh,’ she said.
‘Openook is for every corner of your home, supporting our mission to provide great value every day with trusted quality and on-trend products.’
In one of their ads to promote the new brand, it introduced the new home living range through the eyes of a beloved family dog.
Brendan Donnelly, the Creative Director behind the advertisement, explained: ‘Everyone has their own opinion when it comes to styling the home, even the beloved family pet, in this case, a design-critic Schnauzer. Our goal was to showcase the quality and affordability of BIG W’s Home Living range while injecting a humorous element into our storytelling.’
