When someone is in trouble or there is a horrible event, it sickens me to see that people pull out their cameras and start recording without assisting. It is a lower generation trait. The recent air crash in the USA, the one where the aircraft flipped, two or three people pulled out their phones and recorded before they even started exiting the aircraft. You could hear the aircraft cabin personnel screaming at them to put their cameras away, but they just kept on recording. Idiots!

it's mainly about money, selling the video to the news team

can't turn the clock back unfortunately, government and others run the country and we have to abide by their rulings but we can't even run our own families
I was overseas and their laws on hitting kids pre-dated ours. It didn't stop me from giving the kids a small tap when they needed correction. I never hurt them, just let them know that their unacceptable actions had consequences. Continued it when we returned to Australia. My daughter still does it to her kids, just not the brutality that my mother showed to me. Mum's hitting was downright abuse, but then she was bashed by her mum and she was raising five boys by herself. If one did something wrong, she didn't sort the chaff from the hay, just dealt it out to all that were around. I don't have a great relationship with her because of that. She is unapologetic and said she didn't know better. Crap. There were days I couldn't go to school because my face was swollen from the wooden dust-brush. I knew it was wrong and I broke the cycle.

Point is, kids still need structure and discipline, just not abuse.

Unfortunately, it is not a joke, it is fact. Nothing like a stinging backside to help you remember what you did was wrong. That is why the world is in so much trouble today, complete lack of discipline.
When I was a kid in very early teens the cops commanded a lot of respect. Apart from calling them Officer if caught doing anything wrong you were either marched home to mum and dad or given a damn good clip under the ears. There was basically no crime against people or property but by the same token if you found yourself in strife the cops would help.

It all started to go wrong with children's behaviour when we were no long allowed to spank them for wrong doing. Teachers do not help as they tell childen their rights during school classes which only provokes the children to do the wrong thing. Some parents are without consciences and do not take any responsibility for the behavious of their children.
