Prepare oranges in less than 10 SECONDS with this trick!

Oranges are absolutely delicious (one of our favourites!), nutritious and healthy (low-calorie, rich in Vitamin C and antioxidants), and can be enjoyed in juices, marmalades, and even on their own.

But most of the time, they can also be a real challenge to get into. Even if you do manage to open one with your nails, it’s bound to end in a sticky mess with the juice dripping everywhere if you squeeze just a little too hard.

Thankfully for us, there is a simpler and easier way of peeling the popular fruit as shown by one mum in her TikTok account.

Brittany Roper shared a video of herself preparing some "cutie" oranges for her toddler, and hundreds and thousands of viewers were surprised that she managed to have the fruit snack ready to eat in barely 10 seconds.

You read that right, members – 10 seconds are all it takes.

Take a look at this video below to see how she does it:

In the clip above, the mum from the US turns a mandarin orange (called 'cuties' in Texas, as she explains in the comments) on its side to cut it in half.

And once she has two halves, she pushes it from underneath to turn the orange inside out, resulting in easy to pick segments that are the perfect size not just for toddlers, but also for those who are looking to enjoy their oranges in bite-sized portions. How good is that?

Thousands of users on TikTok praised the mum for her ingenious hack, with some commenting in disbelief about how they never knew this trick before.

"My whole life was a lie," wrote one user in the comments, with another chiming in and adding: "My life will never be the same again!"

Some users also suggested an alternate way of cutting oranges, saying: "If you cut it stem to bottom you'll have full slices come out the same way," to which Brittany responded by making a follow-up video.

This time, the pieces came out bigger and more 'adult-sized'.

Wow, we wish we knew this hack sooner! We could have prevented all those messy times we tried to open an orange in public…

Do you know any other fruit or veggie prepping hacks, folks? Share them with us below!

I don't often eat oranges as I'm one of those fiddly people who picks off all the pith (white stringy bits) before I can eat a segment!;)

Mandarins have loose skin and don't make a mess. I'd rather not be arrested for carrying a knife in a public place 😱

It wouldn’t be easy to do that to an orange for sure, but I’ll try just to see how it goes 👍🏼👍🏼
