Possible Bendigo Bank Scam?

Hi Members!

We had a member, Ian S, tell us about a possible scam involving Bendigo Bank. I checked and found that they do post scam alerts on their website. Has any one of you experienced receiving emails or text messages from someone pretending to be Bendigo Bank? It would be very helpful if you can share your experience so we can make sure we are all safe from these potential scammers.

Thank you Ian S for alerting us!

Always examine the sender's email address before doing anything else. If it looks in the slightest bit odd od different from normal "com" or ".com.au" that you usually see, delete it. In particular lookout for final country designations, e.g. "ru", "jp", "kz", "cn", etc. - clear indicators the message is from somewhere you don't deal with. There is a full list of country domains on the internet.

Although I deal with Bendigo I deleted email as I believed it was SpamI received this last Friday

Yes I have had 2 emails. Rang my bank to let them know the scam was real and they said they knew. I didn't do anything only double deleted it.

It always pays to double check with the bank just to be sure. It only takes a minute and they are more than happy to help
