POCKETMONEY

I was remembering the old days in the late 70’s. My brother and I always looking for ways to make some extra cash. We use to go to JACK THE SLASHER and buy cans of drink for 20 cents then walk down SURFERS PARADISE beach with an esky and sell them for 50 cents! They were gone in a flash. And we would also collect beer cans from the sat/sun night sessions at PACIFIC HOTEL in Southport And cash them in.…..the good old days

Back in the '50's, us 3 as youngens had to do designated chores. Mum paid us 6 pence per week. One day I asked her for a 1d (penny raise per week) that way we would earn a penny per day to make it worthwhile. That was a pretty big deal for us back then.
