'Please help us': Mysterious disappearance rocks family, calls for support online

Our families are our source of joy and motivation, for they are there for us no matter the circumstances.

Yet, for one family, a supposed family day turned into a heartbreaking ordeal.

Australian rock legend Jimmy Barnes reached out to the public with a heartfelt plea online.

One of Barnes' beloved family members went missing in Sydney, which sparked concerns among fans and the community.

Last Sunday, the 69-year-old singer took to social media to ask for help in locating 14-year-old Blake Powell.

Blake is the nephew of his son, Jackie James Barnes.

Blake was last seen in the Castle Hill area at around 4 pm last Friday and has not been seen since.

Since his disappearance, his family, including Jimmy Barnes, have been worried.

'Please help us find Blake, Jackie's nephew,' Jimmy wrote in a post, sharing the official missing person's report.

According to the official report by The Hills Police Area Command, Blake Powell is 185 cm tall, has a thin build, and weighs around 70 kg.

Powell has a Caucasian appearance, olive complexion, brown hair, and brown eyes.

According to Blake's family, he uses public transport and often spends time at shopping centres around Sydney.

Police and family members have expressed their concerns for Blake's welfare, given his age and the length of time he has been missing.

This distressing situation came at a particularly challenging time for Jimmy Barnes, who has been facing a string of health setbacks over the past year.

The musician has undergone three major surgeries, including an open-heart surgery after a staph infection led to complications.

Despite these hurdles, Jimmy has remained positive.

He even shared a video of himself walking with a frame just 24 hours after his most recent surgery.

'I'll be jogging by tomorrow. Dancing by Friday,' Jimmy wrote in jest.

Barnes' resilience has been nothing short of inspiring.

After being forced to cancel two months of shows last August due to an urgent surgery, he made a triumphant return to the stage.

His band, Cold Chisel, is set for their 50th anniversary tour, which has already sold over 150,000 tickets across 16 shows.

Yet, Jimmy's focus is now on his family and the safe return of his nephew.

Those who may have seen Blake Powell can contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000 or Castle Hill Police directly.

Even the smallest piece of information could make a world of difference to his family.

Honestly, if it was my nephew would you post an article like this? Sadly, there are lots of kids missing and none rate this response. It annoys me that if you are rich and famous you get better treatment than normal everyday citizens of this and any country.
On a lot of community facebook pages people put up posts about their missing loved ones. I am sure the police are treating this disappearance as they would anyone else's family member
