I use a n online shopping app. Always leave items in the cart until I have sufficient until I get free shipping. On one occasion I only needed two items, went to cart and within seconds the PayPal payment went through with everything in the cart. No request from PayPal to permit the purchase - done and dusted with a receipt in my inbox. I have now no mi DY in my account and do not provide card until I am ready to buy. So I get notified if the amount and request from PayPal

Thanks for taking the trouble to do that. Understandable concerns.

Always worry though if PayPal is on express payment
I go to my Pay Pal site and check all payments to see if there is an auto service on them. I then delete
the auto service. If you then buy from that company again then you reissue your details.

Yes I also received a scary email on 8th July late at night from supposedly PayPal saying a request for $199.99 from a Mackenzie McCarty McCarty was pending and was to be paid on the 9th July. Of course I was concerned and went into my PayPal account and YES it was showing on my account that this payment was pending to be paid on the 9th. I freaked and had to wait until 8am the next morning to contact PayPal as the resolution tab on the website was not connecting for me. They assured me that until I actually approved the transaction they would not have paid. Whew! Apparently because I had bought something recently through either facebook or instagram that this is where they (BITCON) have got my details and Pay Pal account details. If I had of paid by my credit card direct and not through PayPal I would of lost nearly $200. Lesson learnt ALWAYS GO TO THE WEBSITE TO PURCHASE GOODS- NOT THROUGH FACEBOOK OR INSTAGRAM . ThankGod I use Paypal where ever I can.....
Thanks for that warning Dinah. I got a similar notice in my email from Bitcoin for over $500. Tried to check it with PayPal instantly and could not see it in my account balance; so ignored it. I have shopped through Facebook a lot and have been scammed three times. I will now remember your warning and shop in future going directly to a website to purchase goods.

I think it's fair to say that all unknown callers are scammers and should be treated as such. To confirm just tell you'll call back on the number you have and they will get defensive and try to talk you out of it, Bingo, you have a scammer.
