OzLotto searches for the winner of the unclaimed $8 million prize! Are you the mystery winner?

Many Aussies try their luck through lotteries, as a meagre amount could land lucky winners a windfall of cash.

In one bustling state, there's a buzz in the air about a life-changing sum of money waiting for its rightful owner to step forward.

An unidentified ticket holder could be blissfully unaware that they're now a multi-millionaire after winning a staggering $8 million.

The winning ticket from Oz Lotto draw 1601, which took place on a Tuesday, has been the talk of the town for quite a while.

The winning numbers for the draw were 17, 1, 28, 16, 24, 26, and 2, with supplementary numbers 47, 4, and 41.

The only Division One winning entry from the said draw remains unclaimed.

The Lott officials went on a hunt for the winner.

However, the winning entry was unregistered—meaning they cannot notify the winner directly.

Yet, The Loot found some leads about the winner's location.

The Lott officials know that the ticket was purchased at Central Station News, just inside Melbourne Central on La Trobe St.

Tattslotto's Shuxia Tang is no stranger to handing out prizes, but this was a different predicament.

It's the most lucrative prize from any entry sold at her shop despite selling nine winning entries since 2009.

She recalled the last division one winning entry sold in her shop in March this year, which was a syndicate entry.

The Lott's Spokesperson, Anna Hobdell, urged everyone who bought lottery tickets last Tuesday to check their tickets.

'Imagine going to bed tonight not knowing you've just won $8 million in Oz Lotto,' Ms Hobdell said.

'If you think you're holding this very valuable entry, please call The Lott on 131 868 to start the process of claiming your prize.'

So, it's time to spread the word and check those tickets.

The mystery winner with the prize could be closer than we think.

While winning a massive cash prize could be life-changing, it's important to remember the role of responsible gambling.

It's a pastime that should always be approached with caution.
