Oporto’s latest range inspired by the iconic Otropo burger takes a sweet turn

It’s the age-old question that divides Aussies down the middle: pineapple on pizza, yes or no?

But sometimes, it’s not just about pizza; it’s about how our favourite fast foods are changing to match what people like nowadays. And it looks like one fast-food giant is making a statement with a whole new range dedicated to the fruit!

So, let’s dig in and see how this pineapple revolution could potentially reshape our go-to treats.

Oporto’s Otropo burger, a longstanding menu favourite with a chicken breast fillet, pineapple, bacon rasher, cheese, lettuce, and Oporto’s creamy mayo, has been a consistent choice for many.

Whether you’re a supporter of pineapple in Aussie burgers or see it as sacrilege, the burger and flame-grilled chicken chain has introduced a whole new range inspired by the iconic Otropo burger as of 31 October.

The range includes the Otropo Double Fillet Burger, boasting an extra chicken breast, and the Otropo Bowl priced at $16.45, which contains a salad mix, grilled pineapple, spicy rice, and the new Otropo sauce.

For $15.95, you can indulge in the Otropo Value Box, featuring a single Otropo burger with two crispy strips, small chips, new Otropo sauce, and a drink.

Additionally, there’s a tempting $5.95 pineapple and caramel dessert pack.

Exclusive to the app, three secret menu items are available for a limited time, adding an extra touch of celebration to the launch of the new range.

Among these offerings is the Otropo Rappa priced at $11.95, and includes many ingredients found in the burger.

Also available are the churros and pineapple dessert pack at $6.95, and the Otropo loaded fries, featuring the brand’s renowned hot chips with mayonnaise and Otropo sauce.

The Otropo burger, the inspiration behind the new range, has long been the unsung hero of Oporto.

I'm from Queensland originally, so yep...we had a lot of pineapples growing up...and I'd still eat it on lots of dishes, sweet & savoury....but unfortunately allergic to most stuff on this meal nowadays...hohummm....
