There's no denying that we all love a good takeaway — they're delicious and can satisfy our hunger without us having to prepare the meals ourselves. But as any savvy customer knows, there are certain times when you just have to ask yourself: is this meal really worth it?
Takeaway and restaurant meals are definitely delicious, but they can also be pretty pricey – especially if you go out for lunch every day. And as the cost of living continues to rise in Australia, more and more people are feeling the pinch when it comes to their wallets (and waistlines).
So imagine how angry this one customer must have been when she bought a takeaway lunch from her local food court, only to find that what she received was way less than what she paid for...
Sharing a photo of her meal on social media, a frustrated shopper said that she felt like she was ripped off, and frankly, we can understand why.
'This cost $17.00 at a food court,' she wrote in the caption of her post on social media website Reddit, showing the pricey meal which included a bottle of Mildura juice and a small tub of food.
It can also be noticed that the small plastic food container, which appears to be filled with a stir-fry, is about the size of an orange.
The post captured the attention of thousands of users, many of whom expressed their displeasure at the meal's price.
One person wrote: “You can’t be serious? That’s not even a standard meal.”
“I’m hoping the f***ing table comes with that!” another said.
A third chimed in: “That should be a crime. Take them to the food court.”
Others made light of the situation by seeing the humour in it despite the fact that they admitted that they were outraged by the incident.
