Nursery item from Kmart serves as the 'perfect' organiser

Whether you're going on an out-of-town trip or just heading over to the supermarket for a quick grocery run, a boot organiser will keep all of your necessities (shopping bags, snacks, spare clothing, etc.) in one tidy place.

It's a heaven-sent item for most people, especially for parents and grandparents who have to deal with young children and their mountains of stuff.

In a popular Facebook group, one mum agreed that having one of these storage racks can be life-changing, especially after grocery shopping and you want to keep the boot of your car neat and tidy.

So, she recommended Kmart's Expandable Storage Caddy to her fellow mums, saying: "I found this today and knew it would be perfect for all the shopping bags in my boot!"

Available for only $17, the storage caddy is marketed as a nursery item in-store and online, being described as perfect storage for a baby's toys, nappies or other essentials.

It has three large sturdy compartments that can be used as extra storage in the car, and it even comes with two side pockets to hold extra stuff (and by stuff, we mean snacks).

It is also extremely portable and can be folded for ease of use.

But the savvy mums on Facebook found several other purposes for the rack.

One mum said she's using hers to store her baby's nappies and spare clothes, as well as swimmers and extra clothes for her other children.

Another mum said that she's using the bag to store her shopping bags. Meanwhile, a third wrote that she added a stretchy strap from Bunnings to hers so that it doesn't bounce around when she's driving.

"These are great for little school bags or just all the random kids' stuff parents need to keep in the car," added a fourth.

We TOTALLY need this storage rack. This would be useful not only in the car, but also in our rooms!

Does anyone need a closet organiser? Then we suggest heading over to Kmart now…
