Beautiful listening to the rain on a tin roof. Sounds like a bit of fun there.
Can just imagine the mess it made. Myself I am known for putting eggs on to cook for a salad and have forgotten them till they have exploded in a dry pot and have made a ruddy mess all over the kitchen. Weren't game to go in there till all the eggs had exploded. But that's me.![]()
She made a difference to several people who'll be thanking her for the rest of their life, especially when celebrating the birthdays they thought would not happen. Please take comfort in that.I have had a lot of lovely messaged from a lot of people on here and I am very grateful. It is very heartbreaking. I had lunch with her that day and she seemed happy. Wa going to buy mate for her bird on the way home as she said her bird was depressed cause she was laying eggs that never hatched without a male. She did buy that mate on the way home and she texted me to say she bought the mate but said she was scared of him. Then discussed dinner with me. Asked what I was having the told me what she was cooking the boys for dinner. Her son and her partner. Next morning I got a phone call from another daughter saying. Mum Laura hung herself last night. They revived her but the doctors said they feared she had no brain activity and that they didn't think it was survivable. They had her on life support and a decision was made to donate her organs. Someone donated organs when my son needed new lungs but unfortunately a few weeks later his body rejected the lungs and he died before any more became available. The transplant team told us that her heart had been successfully transplanted as well a her left lung and both her kidneys went to two people who had been on dialysis for years. Anyway I hope those four people get to live a successful life.![]()
Wow my minds going crazy thinking of all the things I would have done to himThe Christmas I remember best was not a happy one for me. My older sister had just got married so was spending Christmas with her husband's family. My mum was ill. I was 12 at the time and my brother was 14. My dad had always left everything in the kitchen to my mum so I found I was the one to cook Christmas Dinner that year. I managed quite well but my brother being a boy who thought at that time that girls were not good for anything, let alone cooking, refused to touch the dinner although I had spent what seemed like hours in preparing a proper turkey dinner with all the trimmings. At least my dad enjoyed our dinner and let me know he had. As you can imagine I did not like my brother at that time and could quite easily have killed him for not eating the dinner I had "slaved" over!
At 14, I would have hidden all the food in the house and let him starve! The Christmas I remember best was not a happy one for me. I hope he remembers it too. Sooooo good.NOT FOR THE COMPETITION*
Every Christmas eve since my son was around 3 and my daughter was around 4 months old I would take him out the front to look at the sky, as soon as we saw a shooting star, which didn't take long, I would tell him that it was Santas sleigh and he would run inside and straight to bed as he knew he was on the way.
The one year I remember clearly was a comet or similar that had a red tail, he was super excited over that and his excitment rubbed onto me.
It worked every year until he got older.
Sadly he passed away in 2017 aged 33, but yes, he did remember while he was with usI hope he remembers it too. Sooooo good.

That would have been wonderful. Glad they were treated like your family. They deserve it. Really they make our day everyday. Really specialIn our family, our pets were always treated as members of the family. So at Christmas, they had a present gift wrapped and put under the tree with all the others. One year, Snoopy’s gift was a box of his favourite treats. Unfortunately, Snoopy was very protective of his food and could smell the treats through the paper. So he sat over them and whenever anyone approached the tree he growled at them. (He didn’t have a vicious bone in his body, he’d never have bitten any of us, but we thought it was hilarious so we sat around for a while and watched and laughed.) After a while, though, we kids really wanted our own presents so he was given a bone and took it outside.
Yes I do. Don't know who the recipient's actually were but do think to myself, at least she has managed to help those people to survive and know that part of Laura is still alive and walking around in those people. I wish them a long life and a happy one.She made a difference to several people who'll be thanking her for the rest of their life, especially when celebrating the birthdays they thought would not happen.
