New information about the Queen makes Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's absence even worse — was it intentional?

We all know that the relationships within the royal family can be pretty complicated at the best of times. And it seems that things have just gotten even more complicated if recent reports are to be believed.

According to a recent revelation from royal insider Gyles Brandreth, it seems that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have cut a deeper wound with the Royal Family and the late monarch.

In his new book Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait, Brandreth claims that he was told by a close friend of Queen Elizabeth II that she had been diagnosed with myeloma - a form of bone marrow cancer - and that her remaining time was, therefore 'limited'.

In other words, she was already ill when Prince Harry and Meghan were 'suspiciously' absent from numerous royal gatherings and holidays.

Palace commentators have highlighted Prince Harry and Meghan’s behaviour as ‘rude’, considering it's hard to deny that something was wrong with the late Queen in her final months. After all, she had to miss royal duties and other senior royals lead ceremonies on her behalf.

While the exact diagnosis date of the late monarch remains unknown to the public, Brandreth pointed out that there was documentation of her being admitted to the hospital overnight in October 2021, implying that she was not in her best health. This also helps to explain why she was noticeably missing from a series of high-profile events.

It was also said that the late monarch completed her final public engagement before passing away in June. However, the monarch was absent from the balcony of Buckingham Palace, where she had previously appeared for over 60 years consecutively.

Royal analysts pointed out that the Sussexes were noticeably absent the Queen’s final engagement, raising questions about Prince Harry and Meghan, if they indeed already knew about the Queen's failing health.

The two were also nowhere to be seen on the 70th anniversary of the Queen's coronation in June. They were abroad, on Harry's polo farm in America.

Commentators said that this is a clear sign that the relationship between Prince Harry and the senior members of his family — namely his late grandmother, King Charles, and Prince William — had broken down to the point where he would no longer attend royal engagements.

Key Takeaways

  • Buckingham Palace has yet to confirm or deny recent reports that Queen Elizabeth II was diagnosed with myeloma, a form of bone marrow cancer, and that her remaining time was, therefore 'limited'.
  • Some royal analysts believe that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's absence from important family events this year may be indicative of a strained relationship between the Sussexes and the Royal Family.
  • If the Queen was indeed suffering from cancer, some have accused Harry and Meghan of being disrespectful for not returning to the UK to honour her during her final year.

It's possible the Queen did have cancer , everyone suspected something wrong.

Harry was in the UK for the 70th Anniversay, he didn't attend the large celebrations and commentators speculated that he wasn't invited.

LONDON — Crowds outside St. Paul’s Cathedral gave a round of hurrahs, as well as some jeers, for Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, as the couple made their first public appearance during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee — and their first joint appearance in Britain since they quit their jobs as royals.

The couple remained behind the scenes on the first big day of jubilee celebrations. They weren’t invited to join the queen on the Buckingham Palace balcony. Photographers caught just a glimpse of Meghan playing with some of the queen’s great-grandchildren in a window above the Trooping the Colour military parade route.
But Harry and Meghan were allowed their moment on Friday, joining the family for a service of thanksgiving — though walking in separately from the working royals, and then being seated in the second row. It wasn’t the kid’s table, but it wasn’t the head table, either.
There we have it the article was wrong.
If I was Harry I wouldn't go back , they didn't make him very welcomed 🤔

Tbh. I haven’t liked Meghan from the first time I saw her. Something I just couldn’t trust or put my finger on. She eventually showed her true colours. I only hope for Harry’s sake, she sticks with him and has no more plans to create more issues… but I won’t be holding my breath.

Harry was & still is, besotted with Meghan. She is always going to hold sway over him until the day SHE decides she has had enough. She will walk away amply provided for & with the children. Harry gave up things he loved, such as his military tasks for love of Meghan. He made a choice. They wanted a “private” life but do little to actually live that way! Harry’s relationship with the Queen was specia. What a shame that Harry & Meghan chose to visit England & the Netherlands but NOT her! Says it all really…

The Queen & now the King are the head of the Church of England. Surely they should be an example of compassion, understanding, LOVE. You would think the media would have learnt a thing or two from Diana but no, it still reports from an insider etc etc. Just plain gossip to suit the media's opinions.

Here we go again, he said she said and we got it from a cousins brothers mates uncles aunties boyfriend mother..... anything to sell something to make money

Myeloma usually doesn't directly lead to death.
Generally, death in myeloma patients is caused by organ failure, such as bowel obstruction, kidney failure or severe infection like pneumonia.
We saw Queen Elizabeth 2 days before her death, smiling as she met Britain's newest Prime Minister Liz Truss.
If she had myeloma and was as close to her death as realised, I don't believe she would have appeared as she did in the photos.
At 96 years of age, I believe she was peacefully called to her eternal Home.

I believe it is the media who create the news just to sell magazines and papers.
How can anyone really know what any person's true thoughts and reasons for when they do anything. Harry could see exactly what the media would do. Leave people in peace to decide what they do. How would any of us feel if we were being hounded as these people are. All these insiders are not even loyal when they supposedly pass on what they think and then pass it on as gospel.

Given your "Key Takeaway" number 1, it is a bit rich canvassing opinions ("What do you think, folks?") - so, in short, based on speculation.

Please do better.

Why should the others have made them welcome? When they effectively s*aT on the Monarchy & all it stood for! I am glad they have made a life for themselves but Harry is going to be very alone when she gets bored & dumps him!

I think Harry will be good if that happens, I'm sure he will have his cousins and his hundreds of friends.

Prince Edward and his wife Sophie thought that they would have been given the titles Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and this is what was agreed upon by the Queen and prince Philip in place of Prince Edwards children receiving titles of Princess.

Charles has now slimmed down the titles and will not give the title to his brother as requested by both his parents.

Another interesting fact is when William becomes king , tradition is that the second son which is Louie will get the title Duke of York currently held by Prince Andrew.

I now think that every member of the Royal Family are for themselves and themselves only. I now know why the Queen held on to the reign for so long.

I hope I get proved wrong but I can't see Harry and Meghan lasting a lifetime together. I don't think he should burn all his boats as he will one day need to return to the fold.
As for what is written in the newspapers and magazines I don't believe any of it so don't waste my time reading it. How they can be permitted to keep pushing such rubbish is beyond me, I'm just glad that I'm a nobody and no-one is interested in writing such lies and innuendo about me. :(

I have wondered if she actually picked her own time to go such as euthanasia

I refuse to buy any tabloid magazine for this reason. If someone else has them, I’ll read some of it to see what they could possibly make up next 🙄 only mags I buy are cooking, gardening, craft or crosswords. Obviously I’m too interested in entertaining myself rather than letting so called celebrities do it
