New Christmas item from Woolies gets shoppers talking

Woolworths Australia has released an exclusive new Christmas item that got many shoppers turning up their noses for its ‘creativity’.

The new Woolies Christmas Tree Shaped Burgers hit the shelves earlier this month and have proven to be a massive hit among some customers. However, others have been scratching their heads over the new item.

One customer shared a video on TikTok showing off the festive-shaped burger patty, alongside the caption: “Who is even buying this?”

“Who thought this was a good idea?” the shopper also asked the retailer.

The clip gained over 57,000 views within a few days, dividing Woolies shoppers with their opinions. One side backed the creativity behind the burger patty, while the other pointed out how the shape may compromise the meat.

“The bun patty ratio is not the vibe,” said one person, while another added: “You’re gonna have a few bites with no meat.”

“Nothing says Christmas like meat trees,” joked another.

Another even suggested that Woolworths should make ‘Christmas tree buns’ as well.

On the other hand, shoppers who had already bought the festive item came in to defend the product, saying that they taste the same as the round ones, and they were great to get kids into the Christmas spirit.

“I bought these; my daughter loved them. They are actually quite nice,” said one mum.

A spokesperson for Woolworths responded by saying the burgers offered “a little extra festive cheer at the annual Christmas barbecue” and that the Christmas item has been flying off the shelves in recent weeks.

“We know they won’t be to everyone’s liking, which is why our customers still have access to our full range of Australian beef burgers, both in-store and online.”

The Christmas tree-shaped patties are available in packs of four for only $8 and can be found in stores nationwide.

We think these burger patties look great! They will be perfect for kids who may want to customise their own burgers or just want Christmas themed food in general.

They are also an easy option to cook for a Christmas Eve or Boxing Day BBQ, not to mention they are affordable, fresh, and reasonably healthy!

What is all the fuss about? As I see it you've got two options, buy them or don't. Why folk want to make mountains out of molehills I've never understood. This is just another example of the silly season, no harm and a bit of fun, especially for kids.
Criticising things like this is so first world! How about they think how lucky they are to be in a position to whine about something so petty? Ninety percent of the world’s population doesn’t have this luxury. They don’t even have clean water, let alone a choice of what shaped hamburger patty they’ll buy. Get a grip people! It’s Christmas. Find a sense of humour and smile!

If you're having a BBQ Christmas lunch...the kids would probably like having a Christmas tree shaped burger patty... just a but of fun... its a wonder they didn't also bring out a little triangle bun to go with it 🤣
