Hi everyone, I am a reasonably fit 82 and live on acreage out back of Noosa with my husband. We have been married for 63 years. Our daughter and her husband live in their home above us and we are very happy to live in ours downstairs. Our daughter works from home and is our "carer", says one day she will have do more than "keep eye on us".
We recently celebrated a "90th Birthday Party Weekend" for my husband in August and it was attended by many of relations from his side of the family, mainly from Perth and New Zealand. Took us a while to get over that but it was a beautiful time and Ron was reminded that he is the family Patriarch now since the passing of his cousin and great friend recently.
We were both born in Southland, New Zealand in a very different time to the current day. Came over to the Sunshine Coast in 2000 after many trips across the ditch, as we used to say.
Our daughter and her husband came over New Years Day 1989 on their honeymoon and eventually asked us to send their goods (which were few) they had found jobs and had quickly made friends. They stayed and had two daughters who are the love of our life. They are presently in Canada and London, with their partners for their delayed - by Covid - OE's. We speak with each of them regularly and can't wait for them to be back here!
My daughter gifted me with a little ginger Moodle for my 80th birthday, and we three live very happily together, although another dog at our age was not a consideration!! She has a Cavoodle called Ziggy and they are great friends. - Ramble over
