...winding it with a pencilI remember sitting and patiently removing tape from the machine and then, slowly and carefully, rewinding it so that it could be used again. It didn’t always work, and I wasn’t a child!
Remember Dick Barton very well, and Paul Temple, Mrs Dales's Diary and Family Favourites on Sunday morning with the British overseas forces stationed in Munchengladbach et al. playing requests. Carefree daysI am 94 and the kids now days do not know how we enjoyed making up our own enjoyment I remember how we used to play in the street together and at 7o/c we would rush home because Dick Barton special agent was on the radio and when the snow came we would get our home made sledges and find the nearest Hill and make big balls of snow until we could not roll them any further, we had some woods close by with a stream running through it so we had the enjorment of catching tadpoles, I could go on and on about things.

the dispair when you couldn't rewind the tape back on. Also the music cassettes being chewed up by the car stereo. Woeful days.
