Remember spotting a Morris Minor in the streets in the ’50s? This car was impossible to miss with its round shape and elegant look. But, let's be honest, these classic cars were a bit basic—no seatbelts and built with drum brakes. Do you still remember your very first car? Share your memories here.

Yes, I remember seeing these driving around the roads when I was a kid. In fact I still occasionally see one driving around the neighbourhood nowadays. Nice to know that these old cars are still being cherished by their owners.

I always wanted one of those. Closest I got was a morris 1800 ( land crab ) it was comfortable and easy to drive. FWD too. I probably had 50 cars in my life. My goal is to own a 1968 GTS Monaro Like my dad had. But unlikely…..

sure do.. my first car was a light blue Mini Minor. Driven properly it was the safest car on the road and mine covered many miles.

It just went and went, fill up the tank for $20.00…..the things that happened in this car, oh the memories. I still have the number plate RRD 059!! It had been resprayed Purple when I purchased it, originally it had been white/cream!!

I had a Standard 8 with sliding windows until a big end bolt broke at near top speed. I substituted a Standard 10 engine. I still have the twisted and bent connecting rod from the original motor.

My first car was an Austin A40 back in the mid 70s. The first time I drove it I accidently knocked the door handles off while parking it next to some poles..
I do remember an old EH Holden me and my ex boyfriend had, the diff kept on going on it and when that happens it just stops dead, you can't move it, one time the police pulled up and helped us bounce it off the road 😂
