Moratorium on regional bank closures petition
A parliamentary petition calling for an immediate moratorium on regional bank closures and a new banking inquiry has been approved. There are just 17 days left to sign it. Even if you live in a metro area and are concerned about your local banks closing this will help shine a light on the issue. Nearly three quarters of regional Australia's banks have been closed since 1975. This week another five towns lost their last banks. Seniors in those towns will be the hardest hit.
