I often wondered how she could possibly know what they would like, or why my dinner would be to their liking. I guess the message was; if you're hungry you would eat anything put before you.

I still would go without than eat some things put before me, and, yes I have often gone hungry.

I have a friend who wears a cap to save others embarrassment. His bald head is covered by scabs from skin cancers, and skin grafts. I know which I prefer when eating with him in a restaurant or at home. I don't like the practice of "permanent" cap wearing if unnecessary, but how can one tell he's not like my mate - doing it for a good reason!
 
The starving children in the missions would be grateful for that meal

Or the other threat was eat it tonight or you keep getting it every meal until you’ve eaten it. (I persevered in that case and ment without meals for 6 days until the meal had gone mouldy)

I always wondered HOW ... me eating my food helped the poor starving kids in Africa.... and I still do!?????
