I had a similar experience at our local McDonalds, when I asked for a cheeseburger. What I get was a burger about 2cms thick and a dollop of cheese. Lucky for them I was Travelling, otherwise I would have complained. No more Maccas for me.

Did I see the price correctly? $3.50 for soup AND a toastie? I live in Newcastle and our food prices are less than Sydney. Fabulous food, often with a sea view and mostly pretty reasonable. However, it would be at least 20 years since you could buy soup and a sandwich here for less than $5.

My message to this lady would be: you get what you pay for.

Tipping system would not work as it is for the waitress and her service to make up for a really low wage. It would not fix the businesses problems. Which in this case seems to be the problem, either they do not train staff well or are super cheap skating. I would have asked for management or who to contact. But $3.50 does seem a very low price, that would make me suspicious.

No matter how cheap, if the food is poor quality, it disappoints and is a waste of money.
It appears as if she didn't receive a 'toastie', rather a sandwich. And the chicken in her soup had gone walkabout.
The customer gave the shop the chance to rectify the issue, but still failed.
