McSmugglers, anyone? Macca’s unveils limited-edition swimwear just in time for summer

Are you in need of a new head-turning look at the beach? Or maybe you’d like to give off a ‘tasty’ vibe this summer.

If this description fits you, worry not because Macca’s have you covered!

The fast-food giant is rolling out a new range of products, and we bet it’s something you never expected from them.

McDonald’s Australia is partnering with iconic swimwear brand Budgy Smugglers to launch a new range of limited-edition swimmers which will be available from Saturday, January 8.

The new range can be purchased from Budgy Smugglers, either in-store or online. Starting at $55, the whole range includes traditional male swimming trunks or ‘Smugglers’, female one-piece and two-piece bikinis called ‘Smugglettes’, as well as bucket hats.

Liz Whitbread, the senior brand manager for McDonald’s Australia, said that the company has been looking forward to launching “the ultimate summer uniform”.

“Whether it’s lounging on one of Australia’s iconic beaches or dipping in and out of the pool, this summer is all about doing things we love with people we love,” she said.

“The limited-edition range of swimwear is bold, fun and eye-catching, perfect for enjoying the summer season in style.”

Customers can purchase men's pieces for $60, women's tops or bottoms for $55, and a one-piece swimsuit for $90.

The collaboration follows Macca’s celebration since it first stepped foot in Australia fifty years ago, with its first restaurant in the Sydney suburb of Yagoona.

Just checked the calendar, no it's not April 1st. The people shown in the pictures definitely do not live on a diet of Maccas!! How come I would have to pay for the privilege of advertising a multi billion company that has so little regard for a nations health? We're all going bonkers!!
