Leather shoes

Can someone help me please l bought some leather shoes and l would like to know how do l make them nice and soft so they are easier and more comfy to wear apart from having to wear them all the time. Any help l get would most appreciative and thankful. Helen

Use a product called Dubbin. It softens the leather and also helps with waterproofing. We used to rub it into our footballs as well, and they think the balls are slippery now!

Get some Dubbin if you can it’s wonderful for softening leather shoes and you make sure you wear them inside a lot helps also.😊

If it is just certain spots that hurt try rubbing inside the shoe with a candle stick.

Try using your hands to manipulate the tight areas of the shoes. The heals can be folded into the shoes and the movement softens the leather. In the army, we used to soak the boots with hot water, empty them, wear them for half an hour while walking around, then stuff them with newspaper until dry. they were then dried to the shape of your foot and softened as well.

Definitely use a leather softener

Saddle soap is good used it for my leather lounge . Contains lanolin and bees wax it's also used for horse saddles and shoes

Use a hairdryer pointed to the inside of the shoe. Then put your feet in Wait till it cools slightly as you don’t want to burn your feet. The leather will shape to your foot. Works for me.

We used to use metho soaked newspaper in our hard leather dress shoes at recruit training, left over night then wear around for a while and repeat, bit smelly but powder and spray got rid of smell, used it on gp's to but didn't worry about smell in them they needed spray and powder anyway. Did wonders on blisters to!

Thank you l do not need any more help now as you gave some very good suggestions and ideas l will be trying out. l do appreciate all the help you gave me. Cheers Helen

shove wet newspaper inside.

Try damp socks pushed inside
The moisture softens the leather inside and expands it a little

You can also buy a shoe stretcher.
