Kmart's new medical scrubs are a hit with customers! Here’s why you should recommend them to your loved ones working in the medical field

If you have a loved one working in the medical field, you know how important it is for them to have the best possible equipment to do their job.

When medical workers are taking care of patients, they are constantly exposed to potential hazards. Whether it’s dealing with blood or other bodily fluids, or coming into contact with dangerous chemicals, there is a lot that can go wrong.

By wearing the proper gear, medical workers can help protect themselves from potential harm. And, in turn, this helps to keep them healthy so that they can continue to care for patients.

So, for those of you who have children working in medicine or if you are volunteering in a healthcare facility, we've got some exciting news for you!

Kmart has recently introduced a new medical item, leaving shoppers in a frenzy.

The retailer's medical scrubs, clothing originally worn by surgeons, are now worn by a variety of medical professionals, including beauticians, nurses, veterinarians, and dentists.

A Kmart staff member wrote about the new product on a popular Facebook group, expressing her amazement at finding the medical item in their catalogue.

'I work at Kmart and only noticed these today!! Selling scrubs now,' the employee wrote on a post along with photos of herself wearing the medical scrubs.

The post has captured the attention of hundreds of people, with over 500 users commenting about how excited they are to nab the item.

One user wrote: 'That’s so cool! I'm sure affordable and hopefully always available to our superhumans.'

'Awesome, domestic care/ age care workers/ vets etc can buy scrubs without spending heaps of dollars,' another said, pointing out that most medical equipment 'cost an arm and a leg'.

A third chimed in: 'Omg thanks for posting this.'

One shopper claimed that the product is flying off the shelves, saying that she was lucky to have managed to try one on during her trip to Kmart.

'Can confirm they are comfortable!' she exclaimed.

One medical worker agreed, writing: 'I wore mine to work today. So comfy!'

Others expressed their delight with the fact that Kmart is expanding their catalogue to cater to customer needs.

One group member joked: 'Everything!!! They sell everything!'

Some applauded the retailer for its 'savvy' initiative to provide budget-friendly clothing for medical workers.

One comment read: 'Very smart move!'

'Now all they need to do is all the pretty colours!' another suggested.

Kmart Divisional Merchandise Manager Tara Broomfield confirmed that they introduced the new range as a result of customer demand.

'At Kmart, we currently have a strong workwear offering focussed on construction and an exciting opportunity opened for us to look at the health and medical industry, by providing incredibly affordable and accessible items for everyday use,' she explained.

'Through customer research, we identified what’s most important to the customer and that includes comfort, functionality particularly pockets and the product needs to wash well and easy care.'

'We have introduced 2 tops and 2 bottoms one women’s set and one unisex to cater for anyone in the healthcare industry.'

'All styles are priced at $30 – all of our options will feature stretch for comfort and the women’s offer will be in the 4-way stretch and the unisex set is a more oversized fit – the top is boxy and the bottom elastic waist with a straight leg.'

'We hope to continue to expand this offering in the future and hope our customers love this new range as much as we do.'

Working in the medical field is not a joke. It's a career that requires dedication, compassion, and a lot of hard work. It's not for everyone, but if you have what it takes, it can be an incredibly rewarding experience.

So, if you have loved ones working in this field, you might want to recommend this new Kmart item. Who knows? They might be looking for new, affordable clothing for their work and you’ll save the day!

Coles are all for the bottom line profit. They have seen yet another area to introduce fast fashion and make a buck. I haven't seen these items but I'll bet they do not have the longevity of traditional scrubs and won't hold up to the constantly required washing and sterilising.:(

When I worked in the medical field, we got our scrubs off the trolley in the hospital in the area where you were working.
The piles were in sizes, but it was really pot luck.
Every item was pressed, and "stuck" together....as if too much starch was applied.
Oh, the memories of pulling the tops and bottoms apart before you could put them on for the day!

Everything I buy from Kmart shrinks when washed so it is hard to buy clothing from them. Scrubs are ever so comfortable might have to have look for them.

Kmart are Wesfarmers, Ricci. Not Coles. Doesnt mean they dont try to make a buck but not this time. Coles is an independent company from Kmart.

Terri,

Coles, Kmart, Bunnings, Target....all owned and run by Westfarmers!
No Thecla. Several years ago Wesfarmers did own Coles, but because they were not doing that well at the time, they disassociated with them. Coles is now out on its own. I was working there at the time.
