Kmart shoppers warn about fire hazards in this $35 haircare tool

Finding the right hair styling tool is like searching for a needle in a haystack.

With so many options on the market, it's tempting to jump at a bargain when we see one.

But, as some Kmart shoppers have recently discovered, not all bargains are as good as they seem.

The product is a Haircare 5-in-1 Styler - Black retailing for a wallet-friendly $35 at Kmart.

It promises 'salon-style perfect hair' from the comfort of your home and includes four attachments: a dryer head, a round brush head, a flat brush head, and a straightening head.

However, a recent discussion in a Kmart fans' social media group has raised some red flags about this seemingly perfect product.

While the hair styler boasts a 5-star rating on the Kmart website and has been tested to applicable Australian electrical safety standards, some users have shared alarming experiences that might make you think twice before adding it to your shopping cart.

One customer's comment was particularly concerning: 'Terrible, mine nearly caught fire, lol.'

This isn't something you'd expect to hear about a hair styling tool, and it's certainly not a laughing matter.

Another user reported that their hair got caught in the device, leading to painful hair removal, while another warned that the styler tends to overheat quickly.

Despite these worrying reviews, many users have had positive experiences with the product.

Some rave about its effectiveness, especially considering the price point.

'Love mine, one of the best $35 I’ve ever spent, and that’s on me having thick frizzy hair,' one satisfied customer said.

Others have praised its time efficiency and ease of use on busy mornings.

The mixed reviews extend beyond social media, where the hair styler has been a topic of discussion since its release last year.

While some users have shared their love for the product, others have not been shy about their disappointment.

One social media user even returned the product immediately, citing the excessive heat of the attachments as a deal-breaker.

When I bought a hair styler recently I looked at Anko but thought better about it and went for a well known brand name used in the hairdresser's stores, more money but I hope safer.

When my friend told me her hairdryer stopped working and she needed to buy a new one, I asked her had she checked the filter. o_O filter. When I checked for her, it was totally clogged with dust and fluff. After cleaning it worked perfectly. Lucky it didn't catch 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Unfortunately they are. If it stops working, just buy new stuff. Don't worry about checking filters or other stuff that can stop them from working till they are cleaned. Idiots

Honestly my lovelies..i feel just using a round hairbrush in 1 hand twirling your hair and damn good hair dryer is the best..and safest... You don't waste $$ & you get to keep your hair and you won't have to increase your home insurance against fire hazard hair nick nacks if the need arises..lol 😉
