I'm sure most of us here at the SDC have started preparing for the upcoming holidays, especially now that we're just six weeks away from Christmas! A lot of us are busy shopping for Christmas decorations as well as shopping for gifts for our loved ones, but what comes next after buying gifts? Wrapping them with fancy gift wrappers.

Melbourne shopper, Danielle, took to Facebook to share a simple, budget-friendly gift wrapping hack using a craft product from Kmart.

In her post, Danielle revealed that she created DIY gift wrappers using a $5 brown craft paper.

She decorated the craft papers by repeatedly writing the names of the recipients in cursive handwriting. She also tied the gifts with twine strings instead of a ribbon to perfectly match the style and to give it a 'crafty aesthetic'.

The hack does not only allow you to save money by avoiding having to buy fancy wrapping paper, it is also environmentally friendly!

The now-viral Facebook post, which has amassed more than 2,600 likes, was met with praises from Facebook users.

One Facebook user wrote: 'I would so buy this wrapping paper! Awesome job.'

'Genius!!! Wish I'd seen this before I bought lame wrapping paper,' another added.

Others didn't seem to believe they could replicate the calligraphy handwriting.

One person wrote: 'If only my handwriting was this neat to do a hack like this.'

'Looks so great but wouldn't have the patience, one name would be enough for me,' another added.

Do you know of any other budget-friendly gift wrapping hacks? Share them with us in the comments below so other members of the SDC can use them too!
