I am impressed to find out that there are some cats who actually come to their owners/humans when called, my cat never did, I would get a very imperious cold shoulder when he heard his name, he only ever came to me when he wanted too not because I called him, maybe he didn't like his name, who knows, he was a typical example of aloofness at all times, I loved him anyway but did miss the fact that he was not cuddly unless he wanted to be usually at an inconvenient time for me!
Sounds familiar to many cats I’ve known over the years. Ours is a real snuggler, which I really love.

I had a brother and sister team named Feisty and Dora (the Explorer). Dora would come to me, jump on my shoulder without claws and proceed to lick my hair - the ultimate sign of affection.

Feisty used to run to you when called by name. But he was King of the Street, strutting himself up and down the driveway, belting any intruders. But he never left the front yard. He was Feisty alright!

Lucky you... I always wanted a snuggler, but because she was a feral cat for approximately a year and found under a bridge with 5 kittens, she was very feral when I brought her home.
It took her 3 weeks to come out from behind the couch when we were around and another 3 months to touch her.
I can't complain after nearly 11 years, because she sleeps on the bed next to me now - about 50% of the time and can be very cuddly, especially when I ask for kisses and hugs.

Yes, when I saw her at the RSPCA, she was described as a "cross Ragdoll". I told them I don't see Ragdoll, but she definitely has Siamese, because I grew up with thoroughbred Siamese cats.

About 7 years later an American woman came to my house to pick up something I was giving away. As she walked in she said, "OMG, this is the first time I've seen a Snowshoe (because they have 4 white paws) in Australia"!
When I asked her what she was talking about, she explained it was a reasonably new breed in USA with a Siamese and an American shorthair.

Who cares... a cat by any other name is just as adorable!

We had a starving, fur matted stray start visiting late at night to eat any leftovers from our cats. After some time I started leaving food out specifically for him. After doing this for several months our son died and I was sitting outside very upset at about two am. The cat watched me for quite a while then came and sat at my feet. After about 5 minutes of that he jumped on my lap and started licking my tears away. He was ours from then on but was petrified of male voices, including on tv or radio, would flee when he heard footsteps and would vomit if he heard a man coughing. He adored me but it took two years before he was ok with my husband. He had so much love to give and I was broken hearted the day he left us 😿😿😿😿. Ginge with my husband three years down the track
