I'm sorry I can't join in these memories of cold, snowy winters. My winters were spent swimming in blue lagoons, trying to catch crabs before they disappeared in their holes, checking rock pools for whatever creatures were stranded there, and not a single camera in sight.

When they were little, we took our children, (who had never experienced snow) to England to visit the grannies. We stopped on the motorway for a break, and there was snow all around. Only 1 problem!! We forgot to tell them it was cold! They dashed over to look at it and got a nasty surprise when they tried to pick some up! That was the last time they ever saw snow!! 45 years later and they still remember that trip!

that reminds me of my backyard in Tassie when we were snowed in with tourists. The kids were bored so we got out the boogie boards we had and used them to slide down the bumpy garden. Lucky there was a hedge to stop us or we’d have ended up in the creek. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

And the creeks are Bl**dy cold down there. I slipped down a bank while fishing for trout.
